Learning form observation

Global Schools promotes teachers' exchanges across Europe. But how to observe other teachers while they teach? A workshop to find out

On 8th September 2016 in Senigallia (Italy), the workshop  Learning from Observation.  A short practical introduction to observation techniques 

The workshop is organized from the  Training Centre for International Cooperation  in the framework of the  X Seminar on Global Learning  in Marche Region

Target of the workshop are teachers participating in the "Global Schools" international exchange programme

The workshop aims at providing some tools for carrying out observation to teachers that will take part in the teachers’ exchange organized in the framework of Global Schools project, starting in autumn 2016. Observation is a qualitative research method applied in several social sciences. The workshop will be organized in three parts: introduction to observation, practice of observation in class, exchange between observers of the observed event, definition of common points of attention on which to focus during an observation.

Trainer

Carla Inguaggiato  is PhD in Local Development and Global Dynamics at University of Trento. Since 2015 she is rese- arch assistant of the scientific coordinator of the research activity for the EU funded project “Global Schools”. She is also responsible for carrying out the research in Italy.  First she analysed educational policy in Italy and contributed to comparative education policy analysis. Currently she is  studying, using an ethnographic approach, two teachers’ training courses on Global Citizenship Education.
